The Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering TASI in Tashkent, Uzbekistan invites you to take part in the seminar which will take place on 19-20 November 2012. The seminar will examine the current situation and development of architecture and construction using earthen materials, including a discussion of current techniques and the direction of future developments.
International conference including a scientific-practical seminar on: Promoting the development of earthen architecture supported by the Dachverband Lehm e. V., the German Association of Earth Building.

The organizing committee of the scientific-practical seminar “Promoting the development of earthen architecture” invites you to take part in the seminar which will take place on 19-20 November 2012 at the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering TASI in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The seminar will examine the current situation and development of architecture and construction using earthen materials, including a discussion of current techniques and the direction of future developments.
The seminar on “Promoting the development of earthen architecture” includes the following sections:
- Modern architectural design
- Approaches to improving seismic-resistance
- New technologies and material modifications using earthen materials
- Preservation of architectural monuments
The seminar will be held in English and Russian.
Call for papers – 15 June 2012
The conference programme and proceedings will be published at the beginning of the seminar. Scientific-research contributions are invited that correspond to the topic of the seminar and contribute current theoretical and practical insight to the field of science and technology in earth building.
Submission of abstracts and papers
Papers can be written in Uzbek, Russian or English and should be submitted in Microsoft Word format. The paper should be 4-5 pages long including illustrations, tables and graphs, A4 format with 20 mm margins, and set in Times New Roman with single line spacing. The paper should begin with the title of the article in capital letters, followed by a blank line, and then a line with the author’s scientific degree, rank and organization, city, country (in italics, normal case, centred), followed by a 10 mm space and then the article.
Authors wishing to participate in the seminar should submit their application including an abstract of the paper by 15 June 2012. The full paper should be submitted electronically by 15 October 2012 with 2 copies sent by post.
Fees and organisation
The seminar and plenary session will begin on 19 November 2012 at 10 a.m. in the TASI conference hall. The conference fee per participant is 150 Euro. Payment can made in cash, by cheque or money order.
