Terra 2016 is the twelfth World Congress on Earthen Architectures, bringing together academics, professionals and experts, and a broad audience gathering around earthen architecture. A Call for Abstracts has been announced for papers and poster submissions. Deadline for submissions is February 10, 2015.
Terra 2016 is the twelfth in a series of international events organised since 1972, bringing together academics, professionals and experts, and a broad audience gathering around earthen architecture.
The congress is organised under the aegis of the ISCEAH Committee of ICOMOS international, in the framework of the UNESCO World Heritage Earthen Architecture Programme (WHEAP). The 2016 edition will focus mainly on issues dealing with sustainable development, particularly in urban areas.
This event will gather more than 800 participants from the fields of heritage conservation, archaeology, architecture and urban planning, engineering, social sciences, as well as fields related to local sustainable development and crisis intervention.
Presentation of your work
About 120 papers will be presented in this event, 80 of which in plenary sessions and 40 during group work sessions. One hundred posters will be showcased at the poster display area. A selection of one hundred papers will be compiled in a publication prepared with the Getty Conservation Institute.
Eventually, the totality of the work presented, including the posters (with a specific, readable format) will be published electronically on the CRAterre, ICOMOS France and World Heritage Centre of UNESCO (WHEAP page) websites.
The selection will be made by the Scientific Committee (see criteria below), but oral presentations or poster presentations will not be effective until payment of registration fees and the presence at the event of at least one of the authors.
